The most popular sport in Regina by far is Canadian Football. Here is my home away from home, the 30,000 seat Mosaic Stadium. (My World)

This stadium is the home of the Saskatchewan Roughriders, the Canadian Football League franchise that is about to celebrate their 100th anniversary. This historic franchise is a fabric of our lifestyle, kinda like what the Yankee's are to New York City.

Thanks for the comments. Our regular season starts at the beginning of July, it gets too cold up here to have it the same time as the NFL.

Love the picture especially the sunset in the background.

Is it like American football?

Nice stadium! The biggest sport in Tallahassee is FSU football in the fall.

Wow! What a stadium. It's huge. Love the shot too. I can only imagine what it's like trying to get out of there when the game is over. :-D

You certainly have a nice stadium there. I didn't realize football was as popular in Canada as it is in the US, but I guess it must be.

Seems like you've got some pretty good junior hockey teams around there too don't you? I guess they'd be in the WHL?

That is a big stadium. I have never really understood football and have only seen one CFL game at Iver Wynn stadium in Hamilton. The cement benches were hard and it was cold!

Not even a dome. Your friends south-of-the-border probably couldn't handle it!

Great photo. 30,000 is just under half our islands total population. Grid iron is ok I suppose but not as good as football (soccer to you). My team is Aston Villa. Thanks for sharing your world with us.

Wow beautiful photo of the stadium. It is really so packed with people.

I think it would take me years of study to understand football, any football, but I do like your photo.

CFL games are great, eh?

I'm not partial to any team but Rider fans are the best, by far.

Your photo captures the vibe, very well!

Hey Guy, your pic is from the best side of Taylor Field...the sunny side..*S*...reminds me of all the games I went to with my uncle as a kid...but now that I'm in S'toon now it just makes it that much harder to get to games...but love the pic...dare I ask...do you have more of Ole TF?

That's a large stadium! Is Canadian Football similar to American Football? I only know the soccer football.

I also wanted to thank you for your visit! And wish you a great week!

I wonder how you'd enjoy Australian Rugby League. Our local team is the Newcastle Knights.

Guy D said...

Hey everyone, thanks so much for the comments. Yes Canadian football is similar to American football just a few differences like a larger field and only 3 downs.

And yes Kim I have quite a few photos of the stadium, just do a search at the top of the main page.

Cheers

Nice photo Guy, I miss watching football in these open air stadiums. I remember going to football games in Toronto down on Lake Ontario and some games it was beautiful and others it was horrific but that is what Canadian football is all about. Thanks for sharing.
